About Aaron | ADHD Norfolk Wedding Photographer | Magpie Magpie Photography

Aaron — Magpie Magpie Photography, Norfolk wedding photographer
NORFOLK & SUFFOLK WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey.
I'm Aaron.
Let me be straight with you.

I blend in, read the room, and quietly catch the stuff nobody else noticed was happening. That's the job. That's always the job.

WHY IT MATTERS

My ADHD is
a superpower.

I notice the quiet hug in the corner. The dad trying not to cry. The moment before the moment. Most photographers miss all of it.

I'm very open about ADHD because it makes me creative — I have the ability to turn chaotic, loud, emotional wedding days into honest, real stories you'll relive forever. No shouting instructions, no forced poses — just me blending in, noticing the magic others miss, and capturing the laughs, hugs, and energy shifts that make your day feel alive. How ADHD shapes my work
HOW I WORK

I keep things
simple.

  • I blend in and move with the day — guiding when needed, disappearing when not
  • I read the room quickly and I'm ready when things kick off
  • Loud, emotional or chaotic? That's where the good stuff lives
  • I won't bark orders at you or make you fake laugh
  • Nervous in front of a camera? Good — that's where I do my best work
  • I'll have a chat with your nan and quietly watch for the good stuff
  • No posing every five minutes. No stopping the dancing for "one more"

SEE IT FOR YOURSELF

What it actually looks like.

THE WEDDINGS I LOVE

You're my people
if…

You care about how the day feels as much as how it looks. You want to be there, not pose for the camera. You love laughter, hugs, big emotion and a dancefloor that doesn't stay empty.

If that sounds like you, we'll get along.

  • —You'd rather be dancing than posing
  • —Natural light and relaxed vibes should be a legal requirement
  • —The idea of being directed makes you want to elope
  • —Your wedding is going to be loud, emotional, or both
  • —You think a good wedding ends late and involves questionable food choices
  • —You want photos that feel like memories, not magazine shots
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

Behind the
camera.

I picked up a camera at 15 and never put it down. My ADHD fuels my creativity and keeps me thinking fast. I've been photographing for over a decade and fell into weddings because nothing else feels this real.

When I'm not behind a lens, I'm drumming or exploring the outdoors. I love a good story — that's why I called this Magpie Magpie.

Oh, and I love a good wedding. Obviously.

THE A TEAM

And my partner
in crime — Ali.

Not only is she my beautiful wife, she's also the one that keeps the gears running. She's stepping into the world of photography too, but she is my point person when it comes to getting people together and making sure we never miss a beat behind the scenes.

Ali has had some amazing roles — including PA to the Governor of the Tower of London. I think she actually created the word "organisation."

Together we work seamlessly. We tackle ceremonies like an army operation, communicate telepathically, and capture your big day from every angle. As a newly married couple ourselves, we know what matters — and we bring that to every wedding we shoot.

ADHD & WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Questions about
how I work.

The questions couples ask when they want to understand what an ADHD photographer actually means in practice.

In practice — I notice more. The hyperattentive side of ADHD means my brain is constantly scanning for things happening around the edges. The whispered joke between bridesmaids before the doors open. Your dad straightening his tie for the third time. The moment your partner sees you and completely falls apart. These things happen in half a second. I'm already watching for them.
Yes — in a good way. I'm very tuned in to energy shifts and when someone's uncomfortable. I back off before I'm asked to. I don't force moments, I don't stick a camera in anyone's face, and I don't shout directions across a room. Camera-shy couples are honestly some of my favourites — because when something real does happen, it genuinely is real.
Absolutely. A lot of my couples are neurodivergent, introverted, or just not the performing-for-cameras type. If the idea of a photographer directing your every move makes you want to elope — you're exactly my kind of couple. The 'for people that live loud, love hard and embrace the chaos' thing isn't a strapline, it's who I actually photograph.
Both. The ADHD means I shoot differently — but it also means I communicate differently. I reply fast. I notice when a couple is anxious in our chat and I adapt. On the day, you get someone who is genuinely switched on from the moment I arrive and doesn't need to be managed. The chaos of a wedding day is where I actually thrive.
