Pre-Wedding Shoots · Norwich, Norfolk & Suffolk
Almost nobody does. And then the biggest day of your life arrives and there's a bloke with a camera pointed at you for twelve hours. An hour together beforehand fixes that — not by teaching you to pose, but by getting the awkward bit out of the way while it doesn't matter.
It's not a photoshoot.
It's a rehearsal.
You walk about, you talk to each other, you forget I'm there. That's the entire exercise — and it's why the photos come out looking like you rather than like a catalogue.
"The moment we met I felt so comfortable, knowing I'd made the right decision. It's not all about posed photos, which allowed for amazing candid shots with no awkwardness — I even felt comfortable showing my quirky side."

You get the awkwardness over with
The first fifteen minutes in front of a camera are always stiff. Always. Better that happens on a Tuesday evening in a field than during your drinks reception with ninety people watching.
I stop being a stranger
On the wedding day I'm in your bedroom at 8am while someone does your hair. It's a lot easier if we've already met properly and you know how I work.
You get photos you'll actually use
Save the dates, invitations, the order of service, your mum's mantelpiece. Most couples have no decent photos of just the two of them. This fixes that.
Camera shy?
Then this is for you.
If the thought of an hour being photographed makes you want to lie down, I understand — and you're exactly the person this is designed for. I'm neurodivergent myself. I know what it's like to be watched and to be asked to perform on command.
So there's no posing, no "look at me and laugh naturally", no standing about being adjusted. I give you something to do and then I leave you to it. Tell me beforehand what helps and what doesn't and I'll build the hour around it. There's more on this on the camera-shy page.
Just go for a walk.
I'll do the rest.
Bring the dog. Bring a flask. Argue about which way the path goes. All of that photographs better than anything I could ask you to do.
Where we'll actually go.
Somewhere that means something to you beats somewhere that photographs well. The pub you met in counts. If you'd rather I chose, these are the ones I come back to.
Holkham Beach
Enormous sand, enormous sky, barely anyone in it. The classic for a reason.
Whitlingham Broad
Ten minutes from Norwich, water and light, easy after work in summer.
Norwich city centre
Lanes, cobbles, the Cathedral, pub doorways. Good if you're not outdoorsy.
Thetford Forest
Pines and long light. Quiet enough that nobody's watching you.
Your wedding venue
Underrated. We both learn the light and the corners before the day itself.
Wherever you met
A car park, a curry house, a field. The story beats the scenery every time.
How it actually works.

I reply fast. ADHD means I'm always on my phone.
We pick a time
Late afternoon, usually — the light does half the work. Around 4 to 6 months before the wedding is the sweet spot.
Weeknights are absolutely fine.
We go for a wander
About an hour and a half. You talk to each other, not to me. It goes faster than you think.
Most people say they enjoyed it. Genuinely.
